Summary

A caring and passionate worker with a drive for caring and helping young children and those with special needs. I am someone who is valuable to a team as I thrive on a challenge and like to help others around me. I believe I am a confident, warm and an approachable person which benefits me when working with young children. I am not afraid to ask for help but also take a lead role when necessary. I have a degree in psychology and then I have achieved my teaching degree and currently hold a year 1 class teacher position.

I would describe my self currently in my teaching role as an energetic educator with proven skills in teaching diverse subjects. Keep classrooms organized and students on-task to facilitate effective learning. Diligent and adaptable in meeting individual student needs with warm, safe educational environments. I am seeking to maintain full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

  • This involved observing the safeguarding team with EHCP (Educational Healthcare Plan pupils) in day to day activities from dealing with parents issues, talking to the children throughout the day who might be struggling or have any problems and following up on previous worries such as domestic violence in the home
  • I also did a home visit as an observer with a suspected ADHD case to talk about their behaviour at home
  • Whilst in the school I was also able to support a Domestic Violence group and give some insight of the psychological view of DV
  • Lastly, I also worked 1:1 with a little boy who had been diagnosed with autism recently helping him with work after he had been removed from the classroom due to his behaviour, this gave me valuable experience I can use in future job roles
  • Volunteer university I volunteered, for a programme led by past and present students, NightLine - an essential initiative there for students who may suffer from mental health issues, students can call in the evening through the night
  • I was trained on how to deal with sensitive situations and how to talk someone through it without giving professional advice also knowing which services best suited their needs.
  • Completed clerical duties such as photocopying, typing and document filing to assist faculty throughout each workday.
  • Carefully established expectations and professional relationships with students to enhance independence and knowledge.
