Isaac McAllister

I am currently 6 months into a two year 'Joinery in a Construction Environment' course at Darlington College where I work on site 4 days with 1 day in the classroom. Following completion of my GCSEs in 2025 I am keen to build a career through hands on, skills based learning and have really enjoyed being part of a team, having to organise and plan my time and ensure I have the right tools and equipment for each particular job I am working on. I am often working to tight deadlines and am able to prioritise jobs to help the team complete projects on time. I have a passion for learning new tasks and am keen to develop my skills within the industry as my course progresses.

During my Apprenticeship to date I have attended the following workshops;

• Basic Health & Safety Awareness
• Manual Handling Training
• Asbestos awareness

I have learned the following:

• To fully hang doors (mostly fire doors)
• Basics like measuring and marking
• Skirting board and architrave fitting
• Assisting with bricklaying and plastering

• I have a keen interest in health and fitness and regularly visit the gym whilst complimenting this with a interest in cooking and nutrition.
• I play 5 a side football weekly in a competitive league after playing 11 a side football for the past 5 years
• I enjoy both golf and mountain biking with family and friends
