1)Provide advanced anaesthetic assistance to the anaesthetist during induction, maintenance, and emergence of anaesthesia.
2)Prepare, check, and maintain anaesthetic machines, monitoring equipment, drugs, and airway devices prior to procedures.
3)Assist with airway management including intubation, supraglottic airway devices, and management of difficult airways.
4)Monitor and record patient physiological parameters such as ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, end-tidal CO₂, and temperature.
5)Assist with regional anaesthesia procedures including spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks.
6)Ensure safe patient positioning and provide pressure area care during surgical procedures.
7)Respond promptly and effectively to peri-operative emergencies, including airway complications and resuscitation.
8)Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection prevention and control standards.
9)Participate in the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, team briefings, and debriefings to promote patient safety.
10)Advocate for patient safety, dignity, and comfort throughout the perioperative journey.
11)Accurately document anaesthetic care, patient observations, and perioperative interventions.
12)Identify and escalate clinical risks or deteriorating patient conditions in a timely manner.
13)Coordinate anaesthetic team workflow within the theatre environment to ensure efficient service delivery.
14)Act as shift leader or theatre coordinator when required.
15)Ensure compliance with NHS policies, theatre protocols, and patient safety standards.
16)Participate in clinical audits, risk assessments, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
17)Supervise, support, and mentor junior staff, students, and newly qualified practitioners.
18)Provide clinical teaching, guidance, and competency assessments in anaesthetic practice.
19)Contribute to departmental education, training programmes, and simulation exercises.
20)Maintain professional registration requirements and engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and evidence-based practice.
1)Deliver safe and effective patient care across multiple specialties including ENT, Orthopaedics, Surgical, Geriatrics, Medical, and Acute Medical wards, ensuring holistic assessment and care planning.
2)Monitor, assess, and document patients’ vital signs and clinical conditions, escalating concerns promptly using early warning score systems.
3)Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and wound care in accordance with clinical guidelines and nursing protocols.
4)Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, support treatment plans, and facilitate safe admissions, transfers, and discharges.
5)Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and dignity standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
