Summary

My Psychology degree has been the greatest milestone in my life it has given me the foundation on how to have empathy and emotional intelligence that I use in my day to day life. The opportunities I have been given with being a Level 2 Swimming Teacher and SEN Swimming Teacher along with during my studies a Research Assistant for Face and Voice Recognition lab have given me the foundation to be strong candidate as a volunteer at PACT. My role as a swimming teacher allowed me to meet Erin who told me her time in working with PACT, I was beyond blown away with how honorable her role was.The opportunity to make a change to society and to be able to shape the children of our society today that will once become adults. This comes with the reward of teaching children the purpose that they have in this world and the opportunity for those to see that for themselves. My experience in working in a lab setting gave me the understanding of a day to day role in a forensic setting. This has deepen my interest into progressing a career as a Forensic Psychologist as this experience gave me taster. Working in PACT Service, would be an honour to navigate save a person’s life and and to show that individual how much of a purpose they have in this world. To deepen my understanding I will be attending the British Isles Workshop on Suicide and Self-Harm Research held by the University of Oxford on the 10th of December, this will give me the opportunity to be able to put myself in the shoes of others that I would be working with.
