HUDDERSFIELD

Summary

I'm eager to expand my skills in design engineering, leveraging my strong mechanical engineering background and extensive experience in heavy industry maintenance and manufacturing, covering fans, electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and hydraulic systems. I'm dedicated to staying current with the latest concepts and tools in this field.

Prepared to contribute to design engineering. Expertise in process optimization, quality assurance compliance with ISO 9001-2015 standards, and sustainability adds value to this role.

I'm committed to continuous learning and open to new opportunities in design engineering. Furthermore, I'm deeply interested in research and aim to bridge the gap between theory and practical design, bringing fresh insights and innovative ideas to the academic community.

In line with this, I'm currently working on implementing digital twin technology in the fan industry for bearing fault detection, which will enhance predictive maintenance systems. Digital twin technology involves creating a virtual representation of the physical system, enabling real-time monitoring and simulation of machine behavior.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer // Misurata

Libyan Iron and Steel Company
08.2009 - 06.2019

Worked for 10 years in the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, which is a very heavy industrial area working under international standards organisation (ISO 9001)

Working as a mechanical maintenance engineer in a central maintenance workshop, responsible for performing maintenance of electric motors and pumps for 20 factories of iron and steel factory.

Key responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in and oversee all phases of small and big electric motors and pump maintenance, including conceptualization, performing tests, balancing rotators and fans additionally replacing some parts
  • Maintenance of centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, gearboxes, and compressors
  • Monitoring of the test unit, and very good knowledge of the operation process
  • Supervisions such as planning work tools and completion worksheet and managing work with technical staff
  • Dealing with machines like turning, milling, shaping, CNC machines, balancing machines, and both gas and electric welding
  • Mechanics of liquids like steam, pneumatics, and hydraulics
  • Basic electric and control background gained through studies and work experience

Key achievements:

  • Good team worker and fast learner
  • Quick adapter to changes in work environment
  • Able to identify problems before affecting deadlines

Project:

The project involved creating a timeline plan and organizing daily and weekly tasks. Key tasks included repairing large DC motors by replacing bearings and mechanical seals, rotor and fan balancing, slot machining for the commutator, and quality checks on carbon brushes to minimize friction and withstand arcing. This effort resulted in cost savings and improved productivity.
