- Provide high standard of departmental and insectary support maintaining core insect supplies, assisting scientist and students in their research, cleaning and maintaining laboratory using standard protocols.
- Utilise institutes service room disinfector machines to provide clean glassware to Lab stocks; and autoclaves for sterilising and decontamination of waste
- Monitor, order and stock communal supplies within budgetary restrictions using business world system
- Maintain and prolong use of disinfector washer machine and autoclaves by performing basic cleaning maintenance
- Provide cover for colleagues who are away from campus on leave
- Review and update standard work protocols
- Replenish and install CO2 and Nitrogen cylinders in labs and outdoor storage cages
- Liaise with other internal groups to fixed problems that may occur in laboratories or quarantine facilities
- Lab coats transported to stores for laundry service and clean Lab coats collected and stored
- Cardboard and plastic tip boxes recycled using various collection methods
- Efficient record keeping and maintenance of autoclave cycles and validation reports for insurance and safety regulations
- Resolved technical issues to maintain smooth workflow.
- Trained staff on how to use autoclaves or perform other tasks using standard work practices, improving self confidence
