• Responsible for all forward trading that Intergen undertakes.
• Cover optimsation in prompt dispatch out to hedging strategies in forward season and years. trading UK power, NBP and UKA (previously EUA).
• Forward book managed has delivered multiple hundreds of millions in all years and major contributor to recent record EBITDA years.
• Originating and closing high value (>£100m) structured contract deals with counterparties, including options, VPPs and longer term tolls, as well as bespoke bilateral trades.
• Overseeing work of junior traders and analysts as well as twenty four month graduate program.
• Setting up multiple DMA (Direct Market Access) agreements and on boarded number of counterparties to increase route to market options
• Embedding new ETRM systems and their constant evolution to fit changing requirements and book structures of the business
• Actively communicate across company up to CEO level, representing trading and commercial team on role of trading and its performance
• Work closely with Finance and Compliance teams to ensure culture of corporate responsibility has been created,
• Working alongside Risk Management to ensure operations of trading team tie closely with risk appetite of company and within latest risk framework.

• Responsible for forward hedging of Coal and CCGT assets, as well as large renewable and retail portfolios (~5m customers)
• Speculative trading in book that successfully achieved its multiple million pound targets in every year.
• Market Making (UK Power Market).
• Optimising Gas storage assets.
• In charge of projects to tender in capacity markets and auctions as well as aiding access for small suppliers and third party trading agreements.

• Responsible for forecasting long-term running of large generation plant portfolio, running simulations with aim of providing optimal running regime for individual plant

• Producing long term financial forecasts, budgets, and business plans to determine financial impact and exposure to ScottishPower within renewable sector and aid investment decisions made by the renewable development team

2004-2005 Value Chain Analyst

• Developing and studying pricing strategies implemented in retail market, and managing value chain from fuel purchase through to end price.
