Being honest I do not have a professional work experience relevant to the position of either the Treasurer or the Secretary General
However, I am well aware of the skills required for such positions and I can confidently assure that I have built such skills in my daily life
Followings are the skills which I consider as crucial abilities for each position
- Financial Literacy
- Mathematical Skills
- Organisational Skills
- Leadership
In my opinion, those four different skills above are particularly essential skills required that a treasurer must be able to perform
In my case, the meticulous nature of my personality had often been a great help to my family business when I was in my country
I grew up learning from the way that my parents/grandparents deal with accounting and auditing in their business, and I was often able to help organise their ledgers when available
I understand the mechanism of an effective budget allocation, and I know how to strategically organise the expenditure Mathematics related to calculation and budget governance is one of my strongest strengths Therefore, I can tell I will be a competent treasurer for this team in a confident manner
- Communication Skills
- Organisational Skills
- Leadership / Decision making
- Event Planning
- Detail-Oriented
- Networking Skills
Secretary General indeed requires diverse multi-tasking abilities
For me, Secretary General is one of the most suitable positions when considering my capacity and experience
First of all, I can perform an engaging leadership In different types of communities, such as in a school society, church, etc, I have always been a student leader or a representative in such communities
I enjoy actively engaging with different members of the communities, and as an effective communicator, I used to adjust / negotiate with the group members on different types of recommendations or complains
In the international school I studied at, I was often asked to participate in suggesting ideas for several events, and to plan them in detail together with the school instructors On such occasions, I often represented the other students
At the University of Bristol, I've been providing such advice to the current committees of Korean Society as well
When planning events, making a contract with sponsors, and having some conflicts with such contractors, I have provided practical advice based on my knowledge and helped solving those problems effectively
