Summary

A compassionate individual who is keen to begin a successful career in the field of Healthcare. I have a successful educational background and practical experience in working with vulnerable people. I have a keen interest in radiography because I tend to get excited to see what is not visible to the naked eye. I hope that in the future I become a successful radiographer with excellent knowledge of anatomy etc.

  • Completed four-day work experience at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital. In total, spent 30 hours.
  • Attended a tour of the department, covering inpatients, outpatients, A&E, and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.
  • Shadowed radiographers working in A&E X-ray, Outpatient X-ray, Inpatient X-ray, and CT.
  • Gained understanding of a variety of procedures and reports.
  • Met members of the Radiography team, the wider Multidisciplinary team, and asked appropriate questions.
  • Provided technical assistance to operators, maximising equipment performance and productivity.
  • Handled troubleshooting tasks with the team during mechanical issues, minimising downtime on the floor.
  • Prepared patients for examinations, ensured comfort throughout procedure.

  • Completed this work experience from 8th June–12th June at Stifford Clays Medical Practice.
  • Monday: Created a warm, welcoming environment for service users' duration of stay. Provided friendly customer service at front desk reception. Observed reception and the demand for emergency appointments as soon as the clinic opened in the morning and afternoon, as well as the number of calls received.
  • Tuesday: Assisting in budgeting activities for better financial control. With Suzanne Sleeman, the Practice Manager, completed the month-end and invoicing for claims. Additional services provided by the NHS. Used SystemOne for this.
  • Wednesday: Worked with Elaine, cross-checking blood results that had been requested from district-documented nurses. Updated Excel spreadsheet smears sheet for this is to make sure all smear results have been received. Worked closely with team members to complete administrative projects on time.
  • Thursday: Updated MDTs for vulnerable patients, whom we monitor regularly, scanning of medical records, and post-dating them. Maintained confidentiality whilst handling sensitive information.
  • Friday: Attended and made notes for the MDT meeting. Also, sat with Dr Raheela Rasool, shadowing the doctor in her surgery room. Utilised my excellent listening skills when hearing patients talk about their problems.

  • Successfully achieved work experience from 17th-21st June and 1st-5th July at Little Thurrock Primary School.
  • Prepared classroom resources, ensuring smooth transitions between lessons. For example, trimming classwork and sticking it into the year 1 students' books.
