Hillsong Church London - Conference Interpreter - 2008 to 2013

Simultaneous conference interpreting from English into Portuguese from an interpreters' booth with live feed from the speaker and  simultaneously  relaying the whole messages to receivers wearing wireless headphones at the Dominion Theatre on a weekly basis.  

Besides the regular Sunday services, I also had the opportunity  to interpret for special events and conferences held at larger prime venues such as the O2 Arena, Wembley Arena and the Royal Albert Hall. 

It is also important to mention that I had the privilege of training new skilled volunteers who were eager to learn how to interpret and whom upon extensive training, successfully became conference interpreters  in order to serve the community.

Interpreted weekly sermons from Portuguese into English and vice versa either relaying the message to the audience by standing next to the speaker or by simultaneously interpreting  from the booth where the audience would receive live feed  through the aid of wireless headphones.

As part of a multicultural local community where there was a need for conveying the messages for the members and visitors who did not understand English I received an invitation to help to relay the messages from the source language (English) into the target language (Portuguese) by standing next to the speakers throughout the whole sermons on Sundays. 

I also volunteered as an English teacher following and applying the "Callan Method" of learning for individuals who endeavoured to fully integrate into the local community and into the broader British society as a whole.
