Holly Nurse

Wisbech,Cambridgeshire

Summary

I am extremely determined and motivated to learn and gain experience within the healthcare sector and I feel I would bring kindness, compassion, safety and true commitment to this role. I am very patient and good at communicating, learning, team working and building trusting relationships with others.

I strive to apply a more personalised approach to the care delivered, and find importance in advocating and listening to both service users and carer/family's wishes, to ensure their needs are being met and they feel safe and secure at all times.

Working as an expert by experience lead for the past 3 years, I believe I can show great empathy to those I work with, based on my own personal past experience of being on the receiving end of care myself. I find this makes me very understanding and a great listener to others.

I am very passionate about ensuring those being cared for receive equality, dignity and equitable care at all times; which I apply to the centre of all I do. I would bring true commitment and determination to this role to ensure those being cared for receive the best care possible.

Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust
, Norfolk and suffolk
2023.05 - 2026.02

Using my own lived experience to make improvements on the adult inpatient wards in Norfolk and Suffolk, through a variety of our transformation programs (Culture Of Care, Safewards. Personalised approach to risk and Reasonable adjustments)

I worked alongside the wards based in Norfolk and Suffolk to give a valuable insite to what it is like to be on the receiving end of care, maintaining and introducing trauma informed, autism informed, an anti-racist approach. This project had a significant benefit for people on our wards including a 40% reduction in incidents of physical and verbal aggression as well as a felt shift in culture.

I carried out a series of environmental reviews, facilitated, co-produced and co-lead training sessions to corporate staff - both those frontline and in senior positions whilst advocating and working with patients and carers in the Lived experience Advisory group.

I was also involved in many trust-wide Quality improvement projects which developed my communication skills, confidence, knowledge and collaboration greatly, enabling me to bring true commitment and determination to my role, ensuring those being cared for feel safe and valued at all times.

to complete various reviews as part of the Trust's improvement
