Standards Line Training Captain on both A320 (and previously on the A330) with nearly 20000 hours. Varied Command experience on both Airbus and Boeing aircraft with extensive worldwide ETOPS operations including New Zealand and the Far East. Experience of many Cat C airfields including short and narrow runways. I am presently employed by Jet2.com as as their first Standards Line Training Captain on the Airbus and my previous role involved being a Standards Line training Captain on A330 with extensive worldwide travel from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Excellent simulator scores which can be shown on request. Technical knowledge very good as graduated with a BSc in Physics (Theoretical and Nuclear). I have recently designed a visual system which removed parallax distortion for a Manchester A320 simulator operator.
Standards Line training Captain at Jet2.com responsible for training standards observations on the training captains and third party airline (acmi) compliance. I have a passion to use my experience to reinforce the company’s training standards and help contribute towards that all important safety goal.
Currently a Standards Line Training Captain on the A330. I am responsible for training new ‘Training Captains’ into their new role and also introducing CCQ crew onto the A330 for their first 4 sectors of ZFT training. In the last year I have operated the A330 all over the world from Alaska to New York, South Korea to Vietnam, including ETOPS Atlantic and Pacific routes to New Zealand. The operation requires a great deal of logistical planning as operations are only a small department and quite remote. Ground operations involve a great deal of pre flight planning including manual Loadsheet computations and the logistics of getting the crew safely from/to their hotels through many worldwide COVID restrictions which vary by region.
Only 3 months after obtaining my command I was made one of the youngest Line Training Captains in 'Thomas Cook Airlines' due to my simulator performance and excellent CRM. After Thomas Cook ceased trading I passed the selection process at British Airways to start with them on 11/05/2020 as a First Officer until Covid struck.
I am was CCQ on the A330 and A321. I also have a current Boeing 757/767 rating and have gained over 15600 total flying hours including 900 hours on the Embraer 145 and 800 hours on the SAAB 340. I have recently designed a non-parallax visual system for 'Simulator Adventures' in Manchester.
On leaving University I was sponsored by British Midland to obtain first time passes on my ATPL/IR at Oxford. I obtained 900 hours on the Emb 145 and 800 hours on the Saab 340, and at only 25 years old was selected to be the only pilot representative of the company to go out to the Embraer factory in Brazil to take delivery of the company's first two jets.
Whilst at University I was lucky enough to spend the summer months working with my father in the oil offshore industry. The work involved long hours in harsh weather where teamwork was essential for safety.
I have been married for 20 years and have two children, Holly aged 19 and William aged 16. Whilst at University I studied C++ programming which enabled me to utilise algorithms on the equity markets to make some money which I then leveraged by negotiating buy to let mortgages properties that I have rented out over the last 20 years. I am in the process of completing a renovation on our new home. Obviously with my current job I am well travelled and enjoy Kite Surfing and Scuba diving.
I am in good health with no absences for over 10 years. I hold a Class 1 medical with weight in proportion to height.
