As an Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice at British Airways, I gained invaluable hands-on experience working and learned critical skills in maintaining and repairing a wide range of aircraft systems. Key responsibilities and achievements included:

• Hands-On Maintenance & Repair : Assisted in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components, including engines, landing gear, electrical systems, and avionics, under the guidance of certified engineers.
• Problem-Solving & Diagnostics : Applied troubleshooting techniques to diagnose faults in aircraft systems, using both traditional methods and advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Component Fitting & Installation : Gained experience in the precise fitting and installation of aircraft parts, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory standards. Worked with various mechanical and electrical components, honing skills in assembly and modification.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance : Maintained a strong focus on safety protocols and industry regulations (EASA/FAA), ensuring that all maintenance tasks were carried out in accordance with British Airways' high operational standards.
• Collaboration & Teamwork : Worked closely with experienced engineers and technicians, developing communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Through this apprenticeship, I developed a solid foundation in aircraft maintenance and repair, building both technical expertise and a methodical approach to problem-solving in a critical, safety-sensitive field.

• On my free weekends, I chose to help my dad at his post office serving customers to improve my communication and customer service skills
• Furthermore, this experience also improved my numeracy skills when giving change and changing money to different currency's
• I used to help on Saturdays when I have no exams/ homework, so I don't interfere with them
• Enhanced customer satisfaction by providing prompt and efficient service.
• Maintained cleanliness of the counter area, fostering a pleasant environment for customers.
• Assisted in inventory control for effective stock management.

• Company Overview: Nissan, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
• Performed day-to-day tasks, including servicing and MOT under supervision of an experienced technician
• Handled basic machinery repairs quickly to alleviate outsourcing costs and improve production times
• Performed diagnostics and troubleshooting to evaluate equipment performance and increase reliability
• Set up equipment to test and verify functionality and performance
• Used bolts, screws, and speed clips to assemble parts based on job requirements
• Communicated product and machine failure details to address and resolve root causes
• Used leak detection systems to check operational statuses and perform mechanical assembly repairs
• Drive and determination- For me i think it is key to be determined in a field of work you love to gain the experience and knowledge
• Communication/collaboration- I use these during teamwork as it helps me and gives me the ability to help others as well
• Organisation- This is key for me as not being organised will waste my time looking for things and will have more time to work on important tasks
