As a Pharmacy graduate and Medicines Counter Assistant my first priority has always been my patients. Whether it is providing information, counselling or carrying out observations and tests my concentration, focus and professionalism is unwavering. Whilst working at Superdrug pharmacy the vast majority of customers were repeat customers, due largely to building and establishing both trust and a professional relationship. I never compromise patient confidentiality and handle data with care. My experience in pharmacy allows me to fit in seemlessly as I have background knowledge of how a pharmacy runs on a day-to-day basis. I have experience in urine dipstick testing, finger-prick testing, blood pressure monitoring and general observations. I also have experience of data collection through pharmacy surveys and university projects. As a science graduate I am familiar with medical terminology. I pride myself on my organisational skills and set myself high standards and enjoy working to deadlines. My work history shows that I am comfortable with being on my feet all day and using computers. Working with healthcare professionals and patients has enabled me to develop and hone both my written and verbal communication skills. As a result I can tailor my language appropriately to suit the situation. I am also open to starting new courses should the need arise. Finally, I am comfortable working alone and as part of a team and am confident enough to ask for help should I need it.
