Trainee Train Driver

I am applying for the position of Trainee Train Driver as I am seeking a long-term career in a safety-critical role where professionalism, concentration, and strict adherence to rules and procedures are essential. My background as a Police Constable, combined with previous safety-focused and customer-facing roles, has equipped me with the skills, discipline, and mindset required to operate trains safely, reliably, and in full compliance with railway regulations.

I currently live within a 45-minute car journey of the relevant depot, hold a full UK driving licence, and am able to travel to work without reliance on public transport. I am over the age of 20 and fully understand the medical, drugs and alcohol, colour vision, and psychometric assessment requirements associated with this safety-critical role. I am confident in my ability to meet these standards and commit fully to the responsibilities and expectations placed upon a Train Driver.
