  • I enjoyed working with a team of international engineers as I got to meet new people that had a lot of insight and knowledge, about not only the maintenance of their high-tech machines, but also other engineering processes. After shadowing them for a few days I was in trusted to help take apart, maintain and put back together their Mult-million pound machine. After I completed my week experience for my first year they told me they where impressed with the work that I had completed and invited me back the following year for my last year of work experience.

  • Canal trust, Volunteer, Volunteering at the trust improved my teamwork and confidence skills. Working as part of a team I met lots of different people and learnt basic skills in environmental management. Learning practical skills, which helped develop teamwork, confidence and problem solving.
  • Volunteering as a maths coach, I noticed my young sister was struggling in maths and I offered to coach her as part of my DoE award. It was not always easy working with a sibling and I certainly had to improve my communication skills. I had to continually adapt to help her through challenges and her struggles with understanding maths.

Health and Safety Awareness

  • From the start of my part time work in the hospitality industry I have had to take part in Health and Safety training and also during my Engineering work experience.
  • I have attended Health and Safety training and introduced to the importance of safety standards
  • I am aware of how key Health and Safety is in the Aerospace industry and recognise I will be expected to comply with rigorous standards for protecting lives as the failure could result severe consequences.
