I have almost completed my full-time study at UCLAN, Preston, I am in the process of completing my master’s in psychology. I have completed all my assessments and in the process of completing my dissertation.
I have recently been employed as a Casual Admin Assistant with Endeavour Learning Trust and I worked for 8 weeks as an Attendance Officer at one of the High Schools within the trust. In this role I was responsible for ensuring the attendance registers were completed daily and to follow up any pupils who had not attended school, this included text, email, and telephone calls in the morning. I also completed home visits with the pastoral mentor for that pupil and we discussed a phase return to school and support which the school could offer when the pupil was in school. I also held meetings with parents whose child had low attendance which included support which we could offer as a school. All meetings and home visits were recorded on CPOMS and any relevant information which I was advised about a pupil. I am familiar with SIMS and CPOMS.
I worked at Wellfield Academy during the exam periods and when staff are required to cover lessons. Within the Exam Invigilator role, I am responsible for ensuring the correct paperwork is completed to the standard required for the examination body JCQ. This allows the exam officer to submit the correct paperwork which is required for each exam which takes place. Communication skills and building a relationship up with the students are needed within this role, alongside recording, and reporting accurate information. I have recently completed my Safeguarding training and JCQ Exam Invigilator training which was provided by the Academy which was essential for my role.
I have recently completed training for teacher cover which I have been offered a role within the Academy, this also included two observations of lessons, this allowed me to see how the staff conduct the lessons while following the procedures which are set of for the staff to follow.
I have completed different forms of admin within my previous roles. While at Chorley Council as a Customer Advisor and Neighbourhood Officer I completed both computer admin - information given from the public but also legal paperwork for jobs which I attended. These documents had to be accurate and include all relevant information as this could be used in court if any of the cases which I dealt with were forwarded to the court to be dealt with. Recording accurate information was essential in this role along with good communication skills with the residents of the borough and being able to work alongside outside agencies including the police when required. As a customer advisor one of my roles was taking payments for council tax, overpayments for both council tax and housing benefits and for environmental services which occurred a charge.
I also set up payment plans for those who were struggling to make their payments. All this was documented on the customer’s account.
Whilst Deputy Manager at a previous employer, I completed legal documents required for both Ofsted and for the nursery setting. I was also responsible for completing the invoices for the parents of the children within our care. I had to keep records of payments that had been received and to chase up any outstanding payments. Within the role of a Nursery Practitioner, I was responsible for completing 'Learning Journeys' for my key children, this included completing observations on a weekly basis, weekly planning for my key children and for other children within the room I was based in, and this had to be linked and worked alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
When completing the planning the other members of staff and myself would come together and discuss activities and the weekly planning areas using the EYFS which we would be covering. Communication skills were vital with this and building good relationships with the parents/carers of the children at the beginning and the end of the day, I also advised the parents that they were able to discuss any concerns that they had with me at any time.
During my previous studies at Blackburn University when completing my BA Teaching and Learning Support and FDA Teaching and Learning Support, I completed three years placement within a local primary school. Within this role I worked with children within the class who showed challenging behaviour, they were in a group which I worked with daily, this included providing support when completing the work which had been set for them and allowing them a break from the classroom in which I took them outside for a break from their schoolwork. I built up a good relationship with all the children within the school. The time I spent in the school during my placement helped me develop my knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities within a classroom and a school. I have witnessed the contributions staff members make to deliver the required functions and are committed to developing and delivering the best possible service to pupils, parents, and fellow members of staff.
I am a very welcoming person and I have good communication skill and I am very profession within my roles. Due to my previous roles have dealt with very challenging situations dealing with members of the public both face to face and over the phone and within the school settings. I always remain calm and dealt with the situations in a calming manner and achieved the results that was required.
