Helen Miller

I took over one year 6 class in this two-form entry school after their previous teacher left the school. I was responsible for preparing the class for their SATs, taking part in internal and external writing moderation activities as well as taking a lead in the day-to-day well-being and behaviour management of the children. I will be taking part in the residential in June and am in the process of organising their end-of-year production and other activities.

I am leaving this post due to the end of the short-term role.

• Covered for staff absences and PPA from Nursery to Year 6.
• Delivered differentiated instruction to accommodate varied learning styles, resulting in improved student comprehension.
• Facilitated small group sessions; aiding peer interaction and cooperative learning experiences.
• Prepared teaching resources and materials for effective lessons.
• Contributed towards assessment marking; reducing workload for class teachers.
• Promoted academic achievement through one-on-one support for struggling pupils.
• Developed and nurtured excellent relationships with students and staff, enhancing positive learning environments.
• Prepared positive, productive learning environments with engaging wall displays and effective resources.

I left this role as I wanted to go back to having a teaching post.

I taught years 3 and 4 at Kenyngton Manor and was also responsible for setting Home Learning during the COVID lockdowns.

I left this role to care for my father who has since died.

• I first led year 6 in this three-form entry school and in my second year there led year 5.
• I was responsible for the class teaching of one class, helping them to prepare and be successful in their SATs. I liaised with their secondary schools to ensure a safe and happy transition for the children.
• I also facilitated and attended the Year 6 residential, two productions and numerous other trips and experiences to enhance their experience in Upper Key Stage 2.

I left this role to care for my mother who has since died.

• Transition Lead (including running Summer Schools) for Key Stage 2-3 with local feeder schools.
• Pastoral Tutor/Manager for Years 7-11.
• MFL teacher specialising in French.
• Nurture/catch-up teacher in literacy and social skills for KS 2-3.

I left this role as I was head-hunted to become Head of Year 6 at Southville Junior School.
