Security Insourcing Project

• Review and renewal of security work instructions to ensure compliance with DfT requirements, ISPS code and the Port Facility Security Plan for Eastern Docks, Cruise Terminals and Cargo.
• Assist with planning resources for each cruise visit, ensuring officers with relevant skills for each role. Including liaison with agency staff to make this process more reliable and efficient in the future.
• Assist with interviews, inductions and training of new security staff.
• Assist with audits, inspections, reviews and investigations where required.
• Liaise with security Team Leaders to ensure correct processes are followed and compliance. Attendance at Team Leader 1-2-1 meetings to discuss performance, provide feedback and encourage continuous personal development.
• Work with IT Development team to create and enhance new security performance recording system and patrol application.
• Support and engage in trials of new processes to continuously improve and innovate the security processes.
• Single point of contact during a variety of shifts to manage and escalate incidents as required. Including weekend, evening and early morning shifts.

Resilience Officer Cover

• Renewed emergency plans and delivered exercises for stakeholders, contractors and Port staff from apprentice level to CEO.
• Automated plan renewal process to improve resilience officer efficiency.

Operation Skippered

• Collaboration with local councils, Resilience Forum, emergency services leads, Port management, government and defence colleagues to create an emergency response plan for the Port of Dover in the event of a Marauding Terrorist attack onboard a cross channel ferry.

Qualified Counter Terrorism Security Advisor

• Contribute to threat and risk assessments as requested for the Port of Dover, such as the annual Dover Harbour Festival (previously Dover Regatta).

Entry processing of passengers at Ports of Calais and Dunkirk by verifying passport and visa compliance. Detecting fraudulent documents. Safeguarding of vulnerable persons. Investigations, interviews and casefile building.

Ensuring flow of traffic through the Port of Dover. Management of traffic within the Eastern Docks and local road network. Liaison with Port stakeholders and ferry operators. Dealing with any ad-hoc issues. Answering police emergency telephone calls. Deploying police to incidents.
