Setting up of the service within the hospital as this was a new role in the hospital
Attending clinics for both surgical and oncology patents requiring treatment for a potential or confirmed gynaecological cancer diagnosis.
Weekly attendance at MDT meetings at the local NHS trust to review and plan ongoing cancer care for patients, involving Surgery , Chemotherapy, pathology review, radiology review, other nurse specialists and radiotherapy.
Plan and refer to palliative care and hospice teams as necessary,
Ensure chemotherapy treatment booked and planned in accordance with patients plan of care and response to treatment
Work closely with the oncology team and maintain excellent communication skills at all times
Ensure all patients personal and treatment information was completed and up to date
Respond to patient calls in a timely manner to maintain the service
work using a holistic approach to ensure each patient had an individual plan of care and patient journey throughout there diagnosis and cancer treatment
