I am a regular member of Fostering Panel for NFA Midlands.

I have over 3 years panel experience and my background is in Fostering.

I promote equality and diversity on Panel, have experience of differing views and opinions. I am knowledgeable as to Panel procedures and keep up to date with all Panel training I am required to attend. I have been involved in complex cases and decision making in sometimes challenging and difficult circumstances.

Having joined panel for Fostering Solutions at the beginning of 2023, I am now a regular panel member for them.

I regularly sit on fostering panel for Child Care Bureau.

I am a member of their Birmingham branch fostering panel and regularly sit on panel.

29 Years fostering experience, birth to 18yrs and beyond including supported lodgings, respite, short term, long term placements and moving children onto adoption.

I have worked with children with SEN particularly Autism, Foetal Alcohol Sydrome, attachment disorder, PTSD, Social and emotional difficulties, many of which have very challenging behaviours.

I have.a very good understanding of the role of a foster carer and the impact the role has on determining the outcome of looked after children's lives. I am confident and willing to advocate for all the children in my care and am determined for these young people to have bright futures and not to become ‘statistics'. I champion for the rights of the these children, battling to get them the help and support they need, whatever it may be, for example CAMHS intervention, EHCP's, or raising concerns.

I have sound knowledge of safeguarding and continue to regularly undertake relevant training.

I have supervised contact sessions for looked after children and worked with birth parents.

I have an appreciation of the effect of separation and loss on the children and how damaged many of them are and the trauma they are likely to have experienced.
