Accomplishments

PGD (West Midlands Prison Group Director) Commendation 25/11/2024

Received due to my actions during a fire incident within the prison. I ensured the fire service were called and the communication between staff was managed to a high standard.


Staff Recognition Award May 2021

Received for initiative I undertook to repurpose the visitor search area and providing relevant information for the visitors. I also enhanced the visitor booking area to improve the visitor experience, implementing positive change.



Staff Recognition Award May 2017

Received due to my hard work and dedication towards family visits. I prepared work, attended on my rest days to ensure it's success. It was noted by HMIP that family visits were excellent and the level of prisoner involvement was a model of good practice.


Family Liaison Officer (FLO)

This is a voluntary role that I was required to attend a 4 day course to achieve. This role has now been assigned to me on 4 occasions to date. This involved 3 death in custody's and 1 serious illness. I was required to visit the family to deliver the news, provide support and guidance to them about processes and procedures. I also liaised with outside agencies as well as the prison service until funeral/coroners court.


Care Team Supervisor (Voluntary Role)

I provided support and guidance to other staff members within the prison as well as supporting fellow Care team members within the role.
