My immunology role involves working closely with children with immunodeficiency disorders, including pre and post bone marrow transplant or gene therapy.

Administration of immunoglobulin replacement therapy, including teaching and supporting parents to administer at home.

Supporting and advising parents with any health concerns, troubleshooting, triaging and signposting where necessary.

Taking and monitoring of blood levels.

Managing central lines and picc lines.

Dealing and supporting bereaving families.

Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and shared care centres ( Great Ormond street / Newcastle general).

Running a nurse-led allergy clinic.

History taking.

Performing and interpreting appropriate skin testing and blood tests.

Forming a personalised allergy plan with recommendations of treatment.

Teaching including anaphylaxis training.

Multidisciplinary teamwork with asthma, dermatology and dieticians.

Allergy awareness teaching for school nurses, health visitors and trainee doctors on a regular basis.

Telephone support for parents.

Attending networking conferences to keep updated.

Recent training with anaphylaxis campaign to deliver allergy awareness teaching sessions .

I was responsible for the setting up and running of the new Children's outpatient department at Solihull hospital.

Managing a team of staff.

Ensuring daily running of clinics

Assisting doctors with inhaler techniques, dermatology treatment ( including wet wrap dressing ).

Administration of vaccines.

Health education .

During this post I started supporting allergy consultant with skin testing and interpreting results.

I worked on this general paediatric ward as a newly qualified RSCN.

RSCN training.

Worked and gained experience on wards at Birmingham Children's hospital throughout the experience, including A and E, oncology, neonates and trauma.

As the junior sister on this 21 bedded male medical ward I gained management experience.

This was my first post as a newly qualified staff nurse.

I gained valuable experience in coronary care including interpreting cardiac monitoring, defibrillation and cardioversion.
