I am a Literacy Intervention Assistant, I work with Lexonik, a high paced phonics programme in SEN, Lexonik has far exceeded expectations and produced a huge uplift in phonics and reading at Maplesden. I work with pupils that are low and some with reading ages of 5 years.
I have all EAL students triaged to me where I meet and assess their individual needs.
I work with individual case students, many that find accessing the curriculum very difficult. I work closely with 'The Education People' and mentor 'Young Interpreters scheme'
I Cover lessons in the absence of the teacher.
I plan many lesson.
I work closely with the safeguarding team.
