  • Supporting an innovative three-year Lottery-funded programme identifying, engaging and working with Hampshire communities in tackling climate change.
  • Developed a robust monitoring and evaluation system (Theory of change) with the University of Southampton to set targets for delivery and identify areas for data collection to monitor, analyse and demonstrate programme impact and effectiveness.

  • Successfully and effectively planned, managed, delivered and evaluated a broad programme of high profile, large scale and small scale outdoor and civic events - which included annual Remembrance Sunday Service, D-Day 70 commemorations, Live at the Bandstand, FA Cup Parade (for which our team was awarded Best Event of the Year in 2008), Olympic Torch Relay, Portsmouth Triathlon and Portsmouth International Kite Festival.
  • Produced comprehensive event management plans, risk assessments, site plans and other key event documentation for each event.
  • Developed and maintained strong relationships within the Portsmouth City Council hierarchy including the Chief Executive, Leader of the Council and elected members, Head of Culture and other departments.
  • Provided written or verbal reports to Chief Executive, Leader of the Council, Lord Mayor and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication on events on Portsmouth City Council land and to raise any issues as necessary.
  • Consulted and liaised with key agencies and stakeholders including Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire and Rescue service, South Central Ambulance Service to ensure effective, compliant and up-to-date event delivery.
  • Consulted, advised and supported event organisers to ensure all legislation and requirements were met for outdoor events, which included the Great South Run, Victorious Festival, Race for Life, Pride Festival, Royal Visits, America’s Cup World Series and Portsmouth Festivities.
  • Key role in supporting and advising multi-cultural, diverse or faith groups across the city to effectively deliver their own events.
  • Successfully manage the spend for each event within an agreed budget.
