At ConciergeUK we work with with High Profile, high net worth clients often resulting in signing an NDA. This can be due to the venue, the event itself or the client. We supply hospitality and Concierge services for the events that we work at. We also follow the sporting calendar putting together the hospitality for such events. Working with Helipad for events such as Cheltenham Races, Glastonbury and Silverstone.

In addition to that we are often called in as an event Management Company to over oversee events. This will be from concept to execution being involved with venue, sound and tech, bands/DJ's, security, health and safety, staffing (if not provided by venue), menu, table plans etc. And of course, on day coordination. We often put on our own events resulting in ensuring all necessary paperwork is correct, licencing, staffing, H&S, security, booking artists and coordination.

Event coordinator

Batch Country House
Lympsham, Somerset
10.2017 - 07.2024

At Batch County House my main role was Wedding Coordinator. This went hand in hand with my previous employment as a Travel Agent. Daily I would be conducting viewings for potential clients and selling them the venue and upselling where possible. Once they had booked it was my job to then maintain that relationship with the couple and being on hand with expert advise prior and during the Wedding Day. As a venue we did not just facilitate Weddings, I was also responsible for the running of events. This could be from Charity Balls, conferences, Christmas balls and meetings. Supplier and client relationships were both equally important for the smooth running of the event. With lots of moving parts there is no room for error.

Daily duties included:

  • Navigated budget constraints whilst ensuring high-quality delivery of events.
  • Maintained meticulous records of all transactions and agreements for reference and transparency purposes.
  • Negotiated contracts with vendors to secure the best prices for clients.
  • Dealt proactively with challenges to minimise disruptions on the big day.
  • Provided expert advice on etiquette, tradition and latest trends to inform clients' decision-making process.
  • Collaborated effectively with diverse teams including florists, caterers, photographers and entertainers to deliver coordinated events.
  • Handled last-minute changes calmly and efficiently, maintaining a positive atmosphere at events.
  • Led tours for customers planning events, weddings and conferences.

Senior Travel Advisor

Thomas Cook
Weston Super Mare, North Somerset
07.2006 - 10.2017

What a job! I love travel and planning and I have been blessed to be able to combine both passions. Being in travel led me to discover a determined sales side to me that I was unaware that I had. Having daily and weekly meetings to understand our targets brought out a competitive side of me to remain at the top. Being top sales gave me privileges and I wanted to maintain them. Having travelled extensively it was easy for me to find my niche and offer my customers expert advise while listening to their requirements and needs. Tailor made Asia and around the World quickly became my specialist area and being a part of someone's dream was rewarding and fulfilling. With a lot of competition out there it was having rapport with customers, listening to their needs and giving them the best possible service that gave me repeat business.

Daily duties included:

  • Managed client enquiries professionally over phone, email and face-to-face interactions.
  • Updated clients regularly on changes in itinerary or flight schedules to avoid confusion or inconvenience.
  • Collaborated closely with the team to meet targets consistently.
  • Enhanced company reputation with excellent customer service skills.
  • Improved client satisfaction by creating personalised travel itineraries.
  • Created and communicated clear, detailed itineraries ahead of travel.
  • Remained knowledgeable on popular attractions and experiences to provide additional travel advice.

About Me

With a passion for seeing the world and discovering new adventures I am not afraid to try new experiences, good or bad. I grew up in Gibraltar and speak mediocre Spanish which does help sometimes.

4 years ago I decided to 'learn to run' as I couldn't (it's true, I could not run). I set myself a goal to be able to run a 5k within the year. 18 months from starting to run I had completed 5 full marathons, all national and international, including London!! Therefore I am a dedicated person that gets things done.

I have two children, one is a teenage Daughter so therefore I am able to deal with hostile situations on the daily. Being a referee and a peace keeper is also part of my skill set. I have a great sense of humour and really love learning new things and meeting new people.

I believe kindness is the key to life and to always pay things forward, not back as this keeps the world turning.
