Hatti Beanland

I am a British born Director of Photography. My work has lead to an array of projects working on feature films, documentaries, shorts, commercials and music videos.

Past credits include the feature film LISTEN which screened at the 77th Venice Film festival winning two Lions. It was later selected as the Portuguese entry for Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards.

My passion and deep roots in documentary have lead to long trusted collaborations. Projects include BROTHER FROM ANOTHER, with George Clooney's Smokehouse Pictures producing and SWIFTBOAT. Other projects include ASHLAND, shot over a period of 5 years on film in Montana. Since working in the USA I have become known for shooting in rugged environments working extensively for the Discovery Channel and National Geographic USA.

My career begun in London working as a camera assistant on feature films, television, commercials and music videos where I also trained as a Steadicam Operator, shooting all over Europe. Due to my understanding of digital formats, I later worked as an onset digital imaging technician supporting and providing onset color management for some of the best cinematographers in the business. Past films include Oscar winning GRAVITY (Emmanuel Lubezki AMC, ASC), RUSH (Anthony Dod Mantle BSC, ASC). In 2012 I moved to Los Angeles to study for a Masters in Cinematography at the American Film Institute after which I started working as a Director of Photography.
