Summary

Previously a solider serving under the MoD, currently working for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals as an Emergency Department Assistant (Band3). I have a mix of clinical, social and practical skills. Extensive experience of working across many different environments and have practical experience of facilitating change within each of the organisations. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, able to engage and build effective relationships at all levels within my work experience. An ability to present to large groups for planning, implementing and evaluating projects. For example I led a team of soldiers to support Global Operations, enthusiastically maintaining a level of professionalism whilst using my own initiative without supervision. I had to make critical on the spot decisions whilst managing competing priorities for urgent specific information. The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with people from a wide area and invest in my commitment to maintaining this. flexible and adaptable to ensure the needs of the service are met.

  • I supported patients following their arrival to the Emergency Department, providing screening assessment and recovery planning.
  • All patients in my care are treated using trust policy and procedures to ensure a safe delivery of care was met.
  • Evidence based practice was completed at all times following clinical procedures and training.
  • Documentation was thorough and concise to enable all medical personnel to follow the patient pathway.
  • I developed my communication skills through engaging with other medical professionals to hand over high risk and complex patients.
  • A detailed understanding of mental health and the escalation planning for those patients at risk within the hospital setting and for discharge planning.
  • Supporting management with help of delegating a multi disciplinary team to time critical patients and demonstrating clinical skills to student nurses and other trainees.
