Harvey Hodges

I work independently to maintain a clean working environment within four different workshops throughout the garage.

Also, at times, I work closely with colleagues to complete tasks we have been set in a timely manner.

Some of my regular tasks carried out are.

• General waste disposal, including sorting of mixed recyclables.
• Sorted and disposed of old car parts to ensure efficient recycling, and compliance with environmental standards.
• Sweeping and mopping floors to ensure a clean working environment.
• Responsible for careful disposal of waste engine oil using appropriate equipment.

I carried out my one week of work experience working for a local family-run contractor.

During my time, I carried out three days of domestic work in residential properties; within this environment, I ensured I conducted myself in a polite and respectful manner.

The remaining two days of experience were carried out in the commercial side of the business, where we completed the second fix electrics of a kitchen within a hospital.

I had the opportunity to observe senior electricians to learn best practices in electrical safety and risk assessment.

This experience also taught me key skills such as time management, working towards a deadline, and being part of a team, all focused on achieving the same outcome.
