Summary

I'm a creative person who has a critical eye for finer details. I enjoy trying to figure out unique ways to approach a situation, which helps with my personal interest of having a hands-on working environment. I excel at working independently, but am also fully capable of working in groups. I am also motivated to do my best no matter the situation, and always put my all into everything I do. I am always happy to help anyone who needs my assistance, no matter how much support I can give them.

Work history

Learning support assistant

HEART Academies Trust
Bedford, Central Bedfordshire
2024.09 - 2026.04
  • I would work in a team in my department to develop strategies to best support students with a variety of special educational needs in their lessons, specifically maths lessons.
  • I would communicate with not only subject specialists but also head of departments about what they want their students to achieve and what the overall goal should be.
  • I would adapt lessons on the spot if students weren't understanding it so they can have a better understanding of the material and how the questions can get solved.
  • I have led and supported in several interventions to help students with their homework, as well as to raise their current working at grades.
  • I helped make learning plans, this includes providing feedback for EHCP reviews as well as sitting down with each student and making individual leaning plans, by going through a list of strategies the students can perform with various staff members to best achieve their highest grades in lesson.
  • I have had meetings with parents, as well as email conversation with a variety, to discuss their child's progress as well as to get to know them better, in order to build good relationships so I can support their child in the most efficient way necessary.
  • I created timetables for my fellow LSAs, by working with the director of my department to discuss which classes were highest priority and needed to be covered most. Everyday, I would also make a list of any lessons that need to be covered, and would share this with all other LSAs.

Museum Volunteer

The Higgins Bedford
Bedford, Central Bedfordshire
2023.07 - 2024.12
  • In July 2023, I did a full week of work experience in my local museum. I worked with 3 other volunteers I had never met. We designed activity sheets for children, as well as learnt about how a museum functions.
  • We carried out inventory checks, helped unbox a painting which has been sent from another museum and learnt how the exhibits get stored.
  • In October 2023 I would volunteer at the museum for a couple of hours a week, where I would carry out a broader range of tasks.
  • I would rearrange any play sets and toys for families to play with, to make them look appealing and welcoming.
  • I would organise the information booklets and make sure they were all in their designated areas for people to use if need be.
  • I would work with the team to help set up/ prepare for any events that we would help, for example setting up materials for creative workshops, knowing where tour groups had to be and when, and setting up new exhibits.
  • I would also hand out visitor surveys to anyone willing to fill one out, and would assist with showing them around the museum if they were lost.

Commissioned Artist

Art Council for the River Project
Bedford, Central Bedfordshire
2024.06 - 2024.07
  • I was asked by the Art Council if I would produce a model of a tree you were likely to find in Bedford and the surrounding area.
  • I led a team that focussed in making a replica weeping willow tree, which stood at around 6 feet tall, and around 2-3 feet wide in total.
  • This boosted my leadership and communication skills, as acting as the main communicator between the people in my group and the commissioner involved meeting with each group regularly, as well as understanding what the bigger picture would look like.
