- I am currently working part-time (mainly weekends) as a kitchen porter and waiter at my local pub. It is a busy and demanding role and I am well used to working under pressure at peak times.
- As well as clearing and preparing dishes for the dishwasher or for washing by hand, I also assist in preparing some food dishes under chef's instruction.
- I am responsible for keeping the kitchen areas clean, and counters clear, rubbish removal.
- I am a hard worker and quick learner; the head chef regularly requests me as his KP on his shifts.
- I have good communication skills which are important in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

- This was my first part-time job at 14 years old - in a local bar-restaurant. I was the sole kitchen porter on duty and responsible for processing a large number of dishes, maintaining hygiene standards in the kitchen, and some stock control. I gained valuable experience working in a team in a pressurised environment.
