I am an extremely driven and motivated person with a track record of seizing new opportunities. I have been exposed to an array of learning opportunities which have bolstered my professional and interpersonal skills which make me an asset to any team. I realised my passion for coaching and working with athletes from my previous experience working in academy football which has increased my motivation to pursue a career in the sporting industry. I have been exposed to a vast array of coaching experiences across different ages making me a versatile candidate. I have experience of using various player monitoring technologies, which have bridged the gap between my keen academic interest in physiology and its practical aplication in a high performance environment.
I currently work as a volunteer sports scientist at Northampton Town FC Academy. I lead games-based conditioning sessions and warm-ups with large groups of young players aged between U10s and U14s. This experience has developed my coaching voice. To ensure players feel motivated yet supported, I've found it important to adapt my communication style, especially whilst working with groups of different ages. As a coach, I have found that demonstrating positive body language and positively reinforcing good behaviours is an essential pillar in improving youth development phase players' outlook on strength and conditioning. I also supervise gym-based strength and conditioning sessions with U15 and U16 players which has contextualised my theoretical understanding of training periodisation. I am involved in weekly S&C programming, which is influenced by feedback from GPS monitoring systems (STATSports) and daily player self-reporting systems. This has enhanced my data analysis competancy, which has been enjoyable as I have been able to utilise my strong Microsoft Excel skills. Planning weekly programs has enlightened me to how important adaptablility is in order to optimaise players' athletic progession whilst prioritizing their hollistic wellbeing. I commute over 100 miles twice a week for this role which demostrates my desire and willingness to learn and grasp oppotunities.
In the summer months I work as a boat skipper for a tourism company. Whilst on shift, I manage four crew members on board. I believe the skill of driving a large boat has vast range of transferable skills to any work place; this includes remaing calm and flexible under changing weather condiBeing responsible for four crew members and up to fifty passengers has developed my leadership traits and interpersonal skills, enabling me to maintain high professional standards and safety within the workplace.
During my years out of education, to save money for extensive travelling, I worked as a compliance officer. I was part of a team responsible for ensuring the store complied with its legal obligations. In this role I learnt the importance of paying attention to the details rather than focusing on the big picture.
