Summary

I am currently a second year BA(Hons) Human Resource Management student at Manchester Metropolitan University. I am a keen sportsperson and play Wheelchair Rugby and was selected to represent Northern Ireland in Wheelchair Athletics. o date I have shown the passion and dedication for success in both my academic work and sport. I have undertaken volunteer work and a summer internship to further strengthen my skillset and seek further work experience to continue my learning and professional development.

  • The first four months of my Gap Year were spent in Cambodia on a Micro Business Project. The work involved advising local people in business startup, preparing business plans, cash flow and agree terms for lending the necessary funds to get started. I followed their progress through regular meetings, providing advice where necessary.
  • I travelled from Cambodia to CapeTown where I worked on a Law and Human Rights Internship participating in legal clinics and raising awareness of basic human rights in disadvantaged communities. I met with young offenders due for release from remand centres to help them access the services they needed to enable their integration back into the community.

Hobbies and Interests

  • Aside from sport, I enjoy musicians play tine whistle and guitar. Iperform with different groups at student music events.
  • I am a car enthusiast and have restored and adapted a ten year old Land Rover defender 90 which I now enjoy driving.
  • Other hobbies include snow (hand) skiing and water (sit) skiing and I have attained my Power Boat Licence (Level 2).
  • I love to travel and have visits, America, Asia, Africa, Canada and many parts of Europe. I enjoy the different cultures and diversity travel provides.
