  • In November 2023 I returned to Clarks and was given a permanent role as a Keyholder on the shop floor, and also worked within the stockroom with responsibilities as a Key Holder and taking on supervisor duties.

  • I worked as a Head Lifeguard and Counselor at an American Summer camp in Long Island, New York.
  • I gained many qualifications during my time in America such as: Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard and Professional First Aid/AED, Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Red Cross Basic Swim Instructor.
  • My job as Head Lifeguard was to oversee the team of lifeguards, this included doing their lifeguard training every 2 weeks to uphold their skills, supervise team members and give feedback throughout the 11 weeks of employment.
  • Instructing CITs (Counsellors in training) over a 3-week period to certify them to be Red Cross Lifeguards and Professional First Aid/AED trained, and assessing kids during swim assessments.
  • During my 11 weeks of employment as Head Lifeguard and a Counselor I supervised and work with all ages of kids from 5 years old up to 16 years old, this would be from supervising as a lifeguard on the water (Lake and Beach) to instructing sports and activities such as Rugby or Football to a group of up to 20 kids.
  • Working in America has improved my teamwork and leadership skills, this was a brilliant experience and I got to travel afterwards to New York, LA, Miami & San Francisco with other counselors I met during camp.

  • I worked as a Full Time Leisure Assistant at Bletchley Leisure Centre.
  • I had to gain a Lifeguard qualification for this job, and I also learned necessary skills for the Lifeguard role, acquiring a lot of experience which was required for my Camp America application.
  • The role entailed being a Lifeguard during public swimming sessions, first aid, setting up certain equipment for bookings, pool and leisure centre maintenance, and engaging with customers to ensure their safety when in the pool.
  • After being a Leisure Assistant for 2 months, I was promoted to Trainee Duty Manager.
  • As a Trainee Duty Manager there was a lot more responsibility in the role, such as supervising and managing staff, and to ensure safety of both the public and the team.
  • I also managed the banking, plant room and chemicals throughout the day, and was a key holder.
  • I was a point of escalation for staff support and customers.

  • I worked as a Temporary Sales assistant for Clarks for their back-to-school campaign, prior to starting college.
