As a Business Engagement Officer, I have hands‑on experience in work‑based learning with a strong passion for apprenticeships. I bring expertise in apprenticeship delivery, employer engagement, and learner support, alongside excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills. I take pride in building positive relationships with employers and learners to achieve successful outcomes and thrive in roles where I can contribute immediately to work‑based learning and development initiatives.
I am currently a Business Engagement Officer in the Apprenticeships team at Southampton Solent University, where I manage employer relationships and support the full apprenticeship journey from initial discussions through to delivery and ongoing support. The role involves working closely with employers to understand skills gaps within their organisations and helping them use apprenticeship programmes as practical solutions. I look after a portfolio of key accounts while also actively seeking new partnership opportunities, and I regularly work with academic and internal teams to ensure programmes run smoothly and meet employer expectations. I also provide guidance around apprenticeship funding, levy utilisation, programme frameworks and processes, helping employers navigate the system with confidence.
In my first year in the role, I brought in over £1 million in apprenticeship revenue for the university. I was also selected to represent the team at the opening of the university’s new SMART centre, where I met Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, an opportunity entrusted to only a small number of staff.
At FRAME, I specialised in connecting top talent with leading Architectural and Interior Design studios across the UK. With a keen understanding of both the market and client needs, I excel at identifying high-potential candidates and guiding them through the recruitment process. This role was especially fulfilling because it lets me leverage my strong relationship-building skills to match the right people with the right opportunities. Additionally, I get to use my business development expertise by constantly engaging with companies throughout the UK, securing new business, providing ongoing support and ensuring successful placements fostering a long term relationship.
I excel at juggling multiple projects, negotiating contract terms, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. My proactive approach and commitment to client satisfaction have contributed to my success in this role, this culminated in me getting one of the largest AJ100 Architecture practices to partner with me to help build out crucial teams in their business.
At Wren, I proudly served as a Kitchen Designer for five years. My tenure at Wren has been marked by numerous rewarding achievements. Notably, I successfully managed and coordinated over 50 kitchen renovations for a prominent developer, showcasing my project management skills and ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously. This experience allowed me to demonstrate my proficiency in delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction.
I am proud to have contributed significantly to Wren's success, having generated over £4 million pounds worth of revenue for the company. This accomplishment reflects my strong sales acumen, ability to forge long-lasting client relationships, and dedication to delivering exceptional results.
