I am a final year Medical student at Swansea University Medical School studying medicine on an accelerated graduate entry course. I previously studied Biomedical sciences at the University of Birmingham where I achieved a 2:1. I have a special interest in and hope to pursue a career in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine.
Attended multiple skills workshops in fibreoptic intubation, airway management and ultrasound cannulation as a member of Swansea university's anaesthetics society. Further developed existing skills and consolidated current skills. Additionally learnt and expanded my skillset with new techniques not taught in the medical school curriculum.
Undertook audits in my own time relating to liver biopsy outcomes based on specific biopsy needle alongside a consultant radiologist, producing and analysing relevant data in order to improve clinical practise and patient outcomes.
Presented audit to Swansea Bay University hospital trust radiology department and discussed the significance of results and their impact on patient outcomes, solidifying presentation skills and enhancing communication skills.
