I am an outgoing and sociable person, with a curiosity about people and life in general. I am conscientious in both my work and relationships and like to see a task through to the end. I am flexible and adaptable, being able to change my approach to tackling a problem when necessary. I am a good communicator, both verbally and in writing. I am reliable and trustworthy and very much looking forward to working as part of a vibrant and hard-working team.
Through personal, professional achievement and experience, I aspire to make the most of my free time between going to university before this September, with the ambition to study Geography and Geology at the University of Cardiff which is part of the UKs Russel group Universities. My passion lies with the outdoors and physical geography . I also demonstrate commitment and hard work through the numerous sport teams I compete and participate in, in particular Derwent Hockey Club and Darley Dale Badminton team as well as Cardiff University Road Cycling Team. This also includes my love for hiking and the outdoors such as hiking Snowdon, Ben Nevis, the Dolomites as well as the numerous trails and routes around Derbyshire and the Peak District.
I developed lots of key transferable skills threw my years in secondary school and six form as I was an avid, keen and outgoing participant and contributor throughout all my years there including being part of student council, student voice as well as Derbyshire youth council, which gave me countless experiences and skills and the development of these key skills is an important part of my employment journey. Furthermore, being part of the university of Bristol for a term and now Cardiff University for a year, going through the processes of applying, moving in and living and working there broadened my perspective vastly on life and what I want to accomplish and achieve in the future as well as how I’m going to get there and the effort it takes to do so. It showed my hard work and determination and how these attributes go a long way and can lead to countless opportunities and open doors which otherwise wouldn’t be attainable.
