i would best describe myself as a whole hearted young ambitious individual who looks at life as a blessing. Being the youngest in my family and constantly working with the elderly has fostered my mind-set into distinguishing expectations from reality. i believe in the right settings i can thrive and achieve undoubtedly.
this is a part time flexible job opportunity i took on as a student during university as it gave me the ability to work on weekends and days i am available. during my time here i have followed company procedures to achieve the highest standards of stock accuracy for all stores working collaboratively as a team with diverse people of alternate nationalities on a constant basis. my primary job here has been labelled as an asset and below are some of the examples of the work i have been required to part take in :
*with Sunday being the busiest day working every Sunday week in week out
*working unsociable hours including late night/early morning
*conduct regular and systematic inventory counts of merchandise
*utilise inventory management systems to accurately record/update stock
*collaborate with warehouse teams to work in a pro efficient manner
*utilise warehouse space to rotate and manage storage of goods
From this job i therefore have gained valuable experience in stocktaking as a whole in which i am familiar with management and basic skills required to carry out a stocktake. I have attention to detail and can accurately count/record large quantities in seconds. overall from this line of work i take with me skills such as:
*being able to work independently and collaboratively with various people in a fast paced environment
*excellent communication skills
*physical stamina required to work long hours on your feet which may involve tasks such as heavy lifting and constant moving of stock
*problem solving skills to address any discrepancies
Again this is also a part time job i took forward during my early years of college. I reduced my hours here to 1 day a week and work every Saturday so it again will not disturb my studies. within my shifts i have been required to:
within this job i have gained the trust of my manager and owner of this business so much so he can rely on me without doubt and leave me with his store keys full well knowing i will have no problem in opening and closing up the shop first thing in the morning before a customer walks in while he travels to London for example over the course of 2 days.
During the summer holidays of July 2019 i was awarded for the completion of the National Citizenship Service in which i took part in a 3 week course designed to push my boundaries and teach me valuable life lessons this part took in Scotland and Preston in which i was away from home fostering an independent approach to life during my early years within the first week i learned valuable skills such as how to build a raft out of wood and barrels as well as partaking in various other activities within the second week i spent my time on the university of central Lancashire campus which gave me an insight as to what university life would be like my third week consisted of constantly collaborating with a care home and speaking to the elderly in order to create a "fun activity day" which deemed a success and put a smile on every elderly persons face This programme was a great way of helping me overcome certain barriers helping me to reach my full potential
