I am a driven educator who currently holds the roles of Head of Geography, Extended Learning Coordinator and Project Qualification Coordinator at Farnborough Hill. Since taking on the role of Head of Geography in 2020, I have overhauled the department's curriculum, placing a strong emphasis on fieldwork, geographical skills and GIS and improving results to become a beacon of excellence within the school.
I have transformed the landscape of extended learning at Farnborough Hill, realising my vision for extended learning to be available for everyone. I have raised the profile of guest speakers as part of our new evening lecture series, created new events for pupils and parents and overhauled the taught curriculum for all three levels of the Project Qualification, resulting in both high uptake and exceptional results.
I regularly work with staff across all departments. I have proven myself to be a collaborative and visionary leader who can articulate a proposal with passion. In Summer 2025, I identified a gap in the school's promotional literature and subsequently oversaw the creation of an Extended Learning Booklet for the school's website; working with Departmen t leads and the Marketing team, I was able to deliver this project before the end of the academic year.
In 2018, I completed my Master's in Learning and Teaching, focusing my dissertation research on the role of extended reading in driving higher attainment. This was the catalyst for the start of my ongoing professional development journey. Since then, I have completed the Bright Lead Middle Leaders Coaching (2021) and the Middle Leaders Development Programme by Career Well (2021-2022). In preparation for undertaking a Senior Leadership position, I attended the GSA's Preparation for Senior Leadership seminar in 2025 and have been reading the works of Jill Berry.
My commitment to academic excellence stretches beyond my roles. I led a working party, which led to key changes in the school prep policy. I was also a key contributor to the SEF for Farnborough Hill's 2025 ISI inspection and sat on two panels during the inspection period, receiving praise for my contribution. I am keen to develop my expertise in school inspectorate preparation and would like to become an inspector in the future.
I strongly support all aspects of school life. I am a dedicated Sixth Form tutor with experience of the UCAS process. I utilise my love of craft by teaching pupils to crochet in our crochet club, and have drawn on my questionable acting skills to play the lead in school pantomimes. I have led and acted as a first aider on numerous international trips , demonstrating both my impeccable organisational skills and wholehearted commitment to the wider education of my pupils.
