I am in my second year at Durham University studying History and French but I stay regularly with family and friends in London during my breaks. I have worked in hospitality since the age of 13 in a range of places, making me a flexible and experienced worker. I have found each job extremely rewarding and I am enthusiastic both as part of a team and as an individual. I can multitask intense situations while maintaining a calm and positive attitude which is vital for the overall customer experience. I enjoy juggling my social and academic commitments in university and I wish to use my skills in a new and exciting environment this summer.
While at university, I work in the evening making toasties for my college toastie bar with one other person to take orders, make amazing toasties and keep track of orders and income. As an assistant manager I help to ensure all the food needed is ordered, the stock is on date, the environment is well-maintained and the staff are happy. Thus, I can happily adapt between working efficiently behind the scenes and being front and center.
While working in this busy roadside café, I switched regularly between English, Welsh and French which I love using to go the extra mile for my customer's experience. Every day I would wash up and clear tables quickly, prepare food, and be a bartender/barista. I have experience handling payments for over 20 tables as well as big bookings making me a strong communicator in a fast-pace environment and very flexible. I also learnt latte art here!
I enjoyed gaining night-shift experience here where I prepared some delicious-looking desserts. I also served food efficiently and enthusiastically in the restaurant while making drinks in the bar and working on the till.
I started here at 13 years old and learnt quickly how to multitask and to keep a positive attitude throughout long shifts.
