I have contributed to achieving the university objectives by supporting the bi function and helping with the planning and delivery of all bi projects. I undertake requirements gathering and documentation, and I have provided a workshop to colleagues. Ultimately working as a data analyst allows me to study data, and statistics provides me with crucial skills in analysing and managing to conclude large amounts of data. Studying statistics will help me in the future as a lawyer to read and understand data, but it also enables me to detect flawed data.
I completed Kennedys virtual work experience programme, which allowed me to prepare a witness statement that can be used in a litigated claim and developed my legal analysis skills—assisted with a client pitch presentation, thus improving my legal knowledge of the insurance industry. I left a voicemail for a client, developing professional communication skills. Lastly, I drafted a memo on the effect of a ‘force majeure’ clause to develop legal research and drafting skills.
I have worked at The Bridge through my university studies, thus demonstrating my excellent time management skills. Time management is a competent skill to have when it comes to a career in law, as I have developed skills to balance my studies and provide quality time to spend with family. Working in hospitality has developed my social skills, as I can effectively communicate with the kitchen and the staff, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain respectful relationships. Furthermore, I can work under pressure, which makes me the perfect candidate. I can initiate conversations and connect with the customer by communicating genuinely and articulately; that ensures the customer is always the priority.
I am gaining an insight into a breadth of written forms - from illuminated manuscripts to graphic novels, from poetry to postmodern fiction. I’m finding my studies fascinating in Manchester; I love it because the city is so diverse. I am highlighting the importance of communicating through written skills. By undertaking this degree, I can communicate well, which will allow me to contribute to your team’s success as sales cannot come together without good team communication. I’m also undertaking the stellify award in the hope of making a difference in the global community; I’m ¾ away from completing the quest this year, illuminating my love to investigate as we independently research the critical issues of race and homelessness.
