Work history

Head of Livery Sales

Company of Cooks
London
01.2025 - 08.2025
  • When the current head of sales for Company of Cooks left, I was invited to apply. I was interviewed and offered the entire role, however I was conscious that my predecessor left due to her unmanageable workload. I therefore took the opportunity to reshape the SLT sales team – dividing key responsibilities, in order to be effective. Once approved, this then saw me heading up livery venues and sharing the entire role with another.
  • I look after six livery venues and clients based in the City. My responsibility is that they hit a combined revenue target of £6 mil.
  • I do this through sale team development, recruitment and training, as well as contributing my own revenue through business development and management of key high spend clients.
  • I implemented a ‘livery referral scheme’ within the business, that has seen over 1mil of enquiries shared YTD and over £100k of confirmed business kept within the livery portfolio
  • Due to my success in team development, client relationship and new business development, I have now taken on another two venues, within the portfolio. These are now performing to budget.
  • This role means no two weeks look the same. I am based at different venues and working with different teams, based on the immediate needs of the business.
  • CH&CO were taken over by Compass Group in September 2024. While I saw no immediate effects of this, now is a very different picture. All the reasons I was initially attracted to working for CH&CO and Company of Cooks has now drastically changed. Systems, processes, bonus structure and staff. I have always worked for relatively small business, where I can have a big impact. Sadly, this is now no longer possible.

Sales & Marketing Manager

Company of Cooks
London
09.2023 - 12.2024
  • Developed successful sales and marketing processes and strategies to increase brand visibility and revenue which will see the venue hit 110% to budget for 2024 (£2.3 mi).
  • Cultivated, managed and motivated the sales team for enhanced performance. This meant slightly restructuring to take on a planning position, enabling the sales team to purely focus on sales and not have to worry about the planning and late nights, which can hinder the sales performance.
  • Coordinated market research studies, resulting in better understanding of target audience and our venue competitors.
  • Developed a great relationship with the venue client, which ultimately meant the recent renewal of the contract, that was previously assumed lost
  • Lead on quarterly review, board and livery meetings, including creating the content.
  • Continued to develop my existing relationships with key event bookers and agents, ensuring the venue receive good quality leads.
  • Accurate forecasting Recruiting, training and mentoring new and existing sales managers, based in other venues.
  • Support on events, as and when required including floor managing for large dinners, as well as calling the pass.

Senior Sales Manager

Eventist Group (Food by Dish)
London
09.2021 - 09.2023
  • I joined this company post-covid and really had to turn my hand to everything - I effectively 'restarted' the sales business.
  • This involved managing a small team, selling, planning and coordinating a huge variety of different events inside some of the most iconic venues. Each venue is unique, with it' own capabilities and restrictions.
  • Responding to the initial enquiry, creating P&Ls, quotations and proposals, confirmed and planned the event and even attend the event on the day.
  • Forecasting, tender-writing and marketing where all part of my daily workload.
  • I loved working here and was very successful in securing huge clients, developing client relationships and delivering the most spectacular events.
  • I was promoted to a senior, post probation, and helped plan and run various catering projects such as Chelsea Flower show, Henley Festival and London in the Sky, all of which have their own challenges, that I helped our team over come.
  • The role was very much about client and venue relationships that meant was i was not working hard in my day job, I spent my evenings networking and entertaining, which saw most of my weeks exceed 60 hours.
  • The office has relocated to Battersea (originally Greenwich) which was my main reason for leaving this position

Sales & Catering Manager

Baxterstorey (Bradbourne House)
East Malling
08.2019 - 08.2021
  • Based in a conference and events centre in East Malling, my role consisted of sales and marketing for this conferencing centre as well as a beautiful, Grade 1 listed Manor House, that lent itself beautifully to weddings, celebrations and corporate events.
  • Due to the ‘Covid redundancies’ I had to become responsible for a small team of three, as well as the day to day general manger duties of running two venues, on top of selling, planning and delivering events.
  • I was never furloughed as I was told I was too integral to the business and contract with the venue. I did have to endure a 40% pay cut and continued to work full time.
  • I won awards and recognition during my time here, such as a ‘Lockdown Hero’ due to my hard work, positive attitude and my ability to drive my team through a very difficult time for our industry
  • I was personally known within the company,, at the highest of levels and have developed a great relationship with my client, East Malling Trust.
  • I was incredibly sad to leave here, but I made the decision to head to London, where our industry was bouncing back, from covid, far quicker than the suburbs.

Sales & Events Manager

Redlibbets Golf & Country Club
Sevenoaks
08.2018 - 08.2019
  • As the club was local to the hotel I once worked in, news had travelled fast that I excelled in event sales and had some major key relationships with huge local businesses and individuals within the area
  • Redlibbets was recently taken over by a new management company and I were one of the first people employed under the new management.
  • My main responsibilities were event and corporate sales which I had been extremely successful.
  • I built and grew relationships with local large corporate clients, through my proactive work and looked after all their events and needs at the club.
  • As well as this, I sold any type of event, including weddings by creating my own marketing campaigns, servicing the leads and ultimately closing the sale.
  • There are various reasons I left this role, including personal circumstances; however the biggest being is we had no chef since the new management company had taken over and I had very little confidence in one starting and staying. This would have meant all my events (including weddings) would not have been delivered to the quality that I had promised
  • I am extremely conscientious and strive to give customers the best possible experience, therefore something like this I found extremely unsettling.

Sales, Marketing & Events Manager

The Bull Hotel
Wrotham
07.2014 - 08.2018
  • This previous role meant be working in a Michelin listed restaurant and two AA rosette hotel
  • In the four years I worked here, I single – handily turned the hotel from having 2-3 weddings a year to over 50.This was due to my extensive
  • Creation of effective sales campaigns for all aspects of the business including the hotel, restaurant and events as well as impeccable customer service. Through these successful campaigns, I created myself sales leads that I followed up and predominantly turned into business.
  • I then coordinated and managed the whole event, making sure we had stock, staff and everything was perfect for the client.
  • These clients stayed with me for my duration here and I looked forward to looking after them within the restaurant and hotel.
  • I enjoyed all aspects of my job from the initial sales process, to getting to know the client right through to the huge responsibility of managing the event itself and a small team.
  • My experience at this hotel means I can turn my hand from organising a team and physically setting up for a wedding breakfast to pulling a pint, serving food and fluffing a wedding dress, in addition to my innate ability to sell and manage a sales team.
  • When the restaurant was busy, I took open table bookings, greeted customers as the arrived for their table, cleared plates and was always on hand to deal with any enquiries or complaints.
  • Due to this being a family run business, a great relationship was very important with not only our clients, but staff also.
  • I developed a great knowledge of wine and food and learned to fee
