Dedicated, compassionate and hard working Registered Nurse (RN) with progressive career history in direct patient care, triage and care coordination in fast-paced environment. Proven to remain calm under pressure and skilfully handle difficult patients and high-stress situations. Experienced in managing a team and appropriate delegation. Consistently developing and maintaining strong relationships with patients, families and carers through empathetic communication, respectful attitude and patient centred care.
Working for a Doctor's practice, developing from receptionist to Healthcare assistant (HCA), Registered Nurse Associate (RNA) and finally Registered Nurse (RN).
Having progressed in my nursing career via 4 years of apprenticeship training, I have worked in many areas of care, including primary care, paediatrics, adults, learning disability, mental heath, forensics, ward based, theatres and intensive care, providing me with a wealth of knowledge of services provided and a great insight of patient's journeys. I am experienced and very knowledgeable around long term health conditions, accredited in each condition treated in primary care. I have spent a long time encouraging our patients to take responsibility of their health where appropriate and am responsible for health promotions.
Throughout my time in my various roles within the practice, I have built up excellent professional relationships with my colleagues and have taken on extra duties such as clinical waste and infection control lead, emergency drugs monitoring, child protection and safe guarding lead and I am currently studying to be the Diabetic specialist Nurse. I was also asked to be the site manager, representing mine and a neighbouring practice for the Covid 19 vaccination programme. I managed 2 sites which covered all of the practices in the south locality. Managing a team of up to 8 vaccinator and 10 administrative staff members as well as volunteers, at any one time.
I have really enjoyed my experience within the NHS and have taken on training at every opportunity. I stay on top of all learning, ensuring I update my knowledge of disease management, vaccine and immunisation, infection control, waste management and acute care, to name a few.
I have been offered permanent roles in every placement I have attended. I have seen a big change withing primary care recently and unfortunately with my employers. I intend to always put the patient before the business side of care and feel it is time for me to try something new to help me continue to practice with integrity.
