9 Months- Managed online sales through Vinted, including messaging customers, negotiating prices, managing listings and packaging orders.
- Raised money for charity by organizing sales, running stalls and selling tickets at school events and activities such as a doughnut sale for the children’s ward in Princess of Wales Hospital raising a total of £135.
- Tutoring younger pupils and volunteering at school clubs allowed me to be able to work in fast-paced environments and stay calm under pressure.
Mentorship Programme
2 Months- Completed an 8-week mentorship programme led by industry professional Tom Savage, focusing on developing key skills for working in a professional environment.
- Sessions included guidance on navigating office culture, building workplace confidence, and enhancing skills such as time management, adaptability, and career planning.
- Developed skills in the google workspace and email writing.
Underwriting Trainee
1 Month- Developed a strong foundational understanding of insurance processes related to Slips, Aggregates (Aggs), and Endorsements as part of the energy team.
- Acquired practical skills using internal systems such as GCube, SBS, Eclipse, Exact, and ImageRight, and enhanced my technical proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint through real-world tasks.
- The experience sharpened my communication, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills through regular interaction with professionals across the department. I also deepened my interest in the intersection between climate, energy, and responsible business, particularly how insurance plays a role in global sustainability.
- Successfully delivered a professional presentation to an audience of over 100 attendees, enhancing my confidence and clarity in public speaking.
