I am a Biomedical Science graduate with a strong focus on laboratory practice and technical skills developed throughout my degree. I gained hands-on experience with a wide range of methods, including PCR, gel electrophoresis, microscopy, spectrophotometry, aseptic technique, centrifugation, pipetting, solution preparation, and microbiology techniques such as culturing and staining. Working in practical sessions taught me the importance of accuracy, safety, and following protocols to produce reliable results. I also became confident in handling samples, maintaining detailed laboratory records, and using IT software for data analysis. Alongside this, my dissertation, which explored codon usage bias in relation to leukaemia, allowed me to apply bioinformatics tools to genetic sequence analysis and strengthened my ability to interpret molecular data. I am now eager to bring my laboratory training, attention to detail, and commitment to high standards into a biomedical support role where I can contribute to efficient and accurate diagnostic services.
