  • Maintain multiple queues of trades executed by the desk which are segregated by product Equities, Bonds and Repo. Ensuring they get matched over DTC Connect in a timely manner. This in turn reduces the fines we pay for late matching and help ease the settlement process.
  • Remain on top of our ageing fails and proceed with issuing buy-ins where we are failing to receive.
  • Ensure our Reg Reporting is up to date, we are meeting all the reporting requirements (MIFID, EMIR, UKMIR).

  • Monitor wash books which are used for separate entities and ensure the desk are complying with MIFID 2 regulations.
  • Book out trades for the desks when required in the trading system Bloomberg.
  • Join Ageing fails calls and relay aged fails that require covering or Repo cover to reduce fines incurred.
  • New to the FICC scene is ETF trading, which is gaining momentum so creating the pipelines and enabling the desk to trade ETF’s as hedge for their PNL book.
  • CSDR – has been a key project I have been heaving involved in for over a year now, this new fails process is set to come in 2022.
  • Also trying to automate any daily processes we perform to free up more time I can invest in project work and improvements.
