Working Offshore during the construction phase of new offshore wind farms.

Duties include

• Termination and testing of HV subsea cables.
• HV cable stripping and hang off's
• Cable routing and cleating
• Cable pulling
• Rigging
• Rope Access
• Mini ROV piloting.

During downtime of offshore duties i have worked for local companies with helping them out on any projects they have on going.

For Reliance Systems we wired Ex equipment such as I.S barriers, EX d Flame detectors, heat detectors and break glasses in an I.S alarm system for a distillery on the Isle of Islay.

I was part of the full tower Electrical team working on vesta V174 turbines. My daily tasks included the following

• Prepping and connection of DC Link joints from PCM3 to flange 2
• YAW preparation of DC link cables for offshore connection to Nacelle
• AC/DC connection of joint boxes on flange 2
• AC/DC connection into cabinets on PCM3
• IR, continuity, RCD tests were all completed after cable connections
• Fibre installation and testing
• Sub Team Leader

• Minimised breakdowns by performing maintenance on electrical equipment.
• Upgraded parts and components to optimise performance.
• Carried out major component changes.
• Experience in generator repairs.
• Performed regular maintenance schedules.
• Regular completion of authorised work procedure documents.
• Authorised technician, leading a team safely to carry out various tasks on the wind turbine.

• Completed comprehensive risk assessments for all aspects of Health and Safety.
• Fully compliant with BS 7671 standards to complete electrical installations.
• Tested and accurately diagnosed wiring faults, recording exact details to maintain traceability.
• Performed complex electrical installations and fit-outs, paying strict attention to detail, in order to reduce errors on numerous domestic, commercial and industrial works.
• Correctly filled appropriate Electrical Certificates and Electrical Condition Reports for optimal project compliance.
• Performed timely electrical system installation of conduit, wire, power distribution and motor controls.
• Ensured safety of electrical work and systems through regular, rigorous testing.
• Read and interpreted electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications for wiring layouts.
