  • My main duties here at the O2 are the management of listed service contracts inclusive of operational delivery, financial monitoring and ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance is maintained in line with the Departmental and Company's procedures and objectives.
  • Contracts: Waste & Recycling Services, Sanitary services, Local Sustainability Initiatives & Data Capture, Landscaping & Urban Garden Maintenance.
  • Key Accountabilities: In conjunction with all relevant service contractors, plan works (contractual, periodic and ad-hoc) and ensure are programmed to a level of detail necessary for site and its business needs.
  • Ensure procurement and reconciliation of labour, materials and services is carried out in accordance with departmental and company procedures to best value and to prevent delays.
  • Ensure contractual compliance with departmental, company and legislative policies and procedures.
  • Schedule contract meetings, attend and deliver minutes to Facilities Director.
  • In conjunction with Facilities Director ensure annual plan is in place and monitored monthly for successful commercial delivery of department.
  • Produce and analyse progress reports, updated costs and forecasts.
  • Ensure correct commercial engagement of contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Implement risk management process, review risk register and check risk controls.

  • The business advised client on best routes of disposal for their waste, often diagnosing Hazardous Waste & best practice disposal.
  • Via site visits & implementing SWMP's, Zero to Landfill & ISO14001 compliance.
  • The other side of the business was providing caged van wait & load service 24 hours per day.
  • Some clients were Selfridges, Harrods, Thomas School Battersea, T&B Construction.
  • Aiding customers on recyclable plastics such as LDPE, HDPE, Corex, Polypropylene, UPVC, Jazz Films & Paper / Cardboard.

  • As Operations Director I was responsible for all aspects of the Waste Transfer Station both yard & office operations.
  • The business was a new startup as such I had to train a Sales Team consisting of 3 office based & 2 on the road Field Sales Executives.
  • I trained them on order processing, Implemented a CRM systems & taught them how gain new business & write bid proposals.
  • I built up a strong telesales team & taught them how to use a programme called Skip Trak to plan their routes.
  • I also wrote ISO handbooks too attain both ISO9001 & ISO14001.
  • I also had to deal with any Yard issued mainly maintain our Heavy Plant Machinery, 360 Excavators, Shovels, Trommel, Picking Line & Bailers.
  • I also covered the Transport Manager, booking in 6 weekly checks, ordering parts for our fitters.
  • Hiring & Off hiring various types of plant & machinery.
  • I also gained us FORS Bronze accreditation & gave tool box talks to drivers on best practice & wrote drivers manual as I have a HGV Class 2 myself so I could cover any truck if the need arose.
  • Regular P&L meeting & Sales forecast meeting with our stakeholders, I implemented KPI's for our Sales Team.
  • We brought in major house accounts. Modebest Builders, Galliford Try, Boras Construction, T&B Construction & Telford Homes amongst others.
  • I dealt with the Environment Agency, HSE & Local Council visits. E.A Waste Returns.
  • I found best outlet for our recycled waste commodities for the best price for the company, having IOSH, I also wrote all the Risk Assessments for the Yard, Machinery, Trucks & Plant.

  • I won some major house accounts across all waste sectors customers such as Galliford Try, Kier Homes & Wates Construction via bidding / tendering process.
  • The decent homes project alone brought in over 2 million in turnover in the time I was there.
  • All my Field Sales Executives either achieved or exceed their own targets also.
  • I would also attend EA meeting & Various trade show exhibiting on trade stands.
