Description of Core Role

Head up the design and product management of all Stoane lighting standard products.

To manage on schedule the successful design and integration of new products into the Stoane Lighting range and to manage products after launch.

Linking product design and documentation to other business functions such that the product is made well, safely and profitably. The product management function includes liaison with procurement dept, component manufacturers, marketing team, technical writers, product assemblers and ensuring full compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Product management, linking product development closely to other business functions:

  • Procurement. Meet with suppliers, manage product launch/pricing.
  • Specifier Support and Marketing/Website team. Product benefits explanation, product technical pack for launch.
  • Workshop. Analysis of manufacturing for efficiency/cost savings.
  • Production team. Assembly documentation, manage feedback. Assembly time analysis.



  • Understand and react to customer feedback.
  • UL technical design derivatives and documentation, manage ETL. product listing for North American market, including Intertek audit process.
  • Formalise low-impact Luminaire design guide/best practice.
  • Review of new product development/product feedback checklists for integration with ERP systems.
  • Manage new product development schedules.
  • Identify opportunities and priorities to add to standard product ranges. To set new product development road-maps with Head of development and Managing director.
  • Mentor and train junior development staff.
