• Since leaving University, I have worked as a teaching assistant in the schools listed above where my role has been to provide support to both pupils and teachers on short notice. I am dedicated to assisting to the best of my ability, ensuring that all children can access and engage with their learning effectively. Since April 2025, I have been working as a Supply Teacher gaining my NQT hours within some of the schools above.

• I currently teach children how to swim twice a week with a strong emphasis on water safety, fundamental swimming techniques, and fostering confidence in the water. My approach has to be tailored to meet the individual needs of each child, adjusting lessons based on their skill level and comfort. I create a positive, encouraging atmosphere where children felt safe to explore and develop their abilities. Through structured lessons, I help students build their coordination, balance, and endurance while ensuring that each session was both educational and fun. My goal is to promote water safety awareness and equip children with the skills they need to swim confidently and independently.

• In this placement I worked in a Year 2 and Year 3 class, planning and teaching lessons for the children. Throughout my time on placement I successfully built a rapport with both the pupils, teachers and other student teachers. I taught many different AoLE's and brought real life experiences into my teaching.

• I was contracted to Legacy Leisure for 9 hours per week at Cardiff International Pool and Gym and also cover hours occasionally for colleagues. Throughout my time at Legacy Leisure I taught children 1-1 to make sure that their individual needs are met. I also taught adult swimming lessons for adults who either just want to improve techniques or new learners. I have also assisted children moving from Wave 5 up to the Cardiff City Swimming Club which helps children possibly meet competitive and international level

• In this placement I worked in Year 2, planning and teaching lessons for the children. Throughout my time on placement, I used different software and ideas to plan and teach the children different skills. I taught all of the different AoLE's and supported the children of different abilities by developing an understanding into the importance of differentiation

• In this placement I worked in Year 4 with another student teacher and collaboratively planned maths sessions together using a certain scheme/proforma. I worked within the Year 4 team to make sure that all my lessons were appropriately planned for all children and their needs.

• Contracted to Celtic Leisure for 5 swim teaching hours per week at Neath Leisure Centre and 5 hours at Glynneath Leisure Centre. I was also a casual lifeguard and often covered a 11 hour shift. I have also covered reception, taking bookings. As a swim teacher, I demonstrated patience with the children as at such a young age. I was able to take control of the lesson in order for them to focus and learn. I enjoyed seeing them grow and develop with my help and coaching. It is very rewarding when children I have taught develop and move up to another class or group.

• I am a Level 2 Swim Teacher and I started teaching at Pontardawe Swimming Pool in June 2019 and have since worked a minimum of 10 hours per week swim teaching in Celtic Leisure pools. I really enjoy my role as a swimming teacher and believe I am well thought of by members of my team. I enjoy working with the children and watching them grow and develop their swimming skills

• Successfully appointed to the first ever Youth Panel (6 members); the focus of the panel was to work on objectives to support the development of aquatic sports across Wales and encouraging others to learn and participate in swimming. This included attending national competitions and events to help with the running of them, including attending a national conference.

Celtic Dolphins Swim Club

• Squad member, training approximately 12-14 hours per week including early morning training at least 3 mornings per week before school; often training twice a day

Neath Amateur Swim Club

• Squad member, training approximately 12 hours per week. Attending competitions across Wales. I was made Female Club Captain in December 2017 and held this position until I left the Club in October 2018.

• During school holidays I worked in the café serving customers, taking cash and giving change; cleaning up; cooking food and making hot drinks, ice creams.
